  6.    TASKS INFORMATION
  7.  
  8.      TASKS is a Windows 3.0 Application that can display the following
  9.      information:
  10.  
  11.             - Number of currently executing tasks
  12.             - Type of processor (8086,  80186, 80286, 80386)
  13.             - Math coprocessor existance
  14.             - Mode Windows is executing in (Real, Standard, Enhanced)
  15.             - Protected mode status
  16.             - EMS type (Small or Large Frame)
  17.             - Available Windows memory
  18.             - Installed and available EMS memory
  19.             - EMS driver version loaded
  20.  
  21.      TASKS can also display the following information in an Icon:

  23.             - Number of currently executing tasks
  24.             - Available Windows memory
  25.             - Available EMS memory

  28.    USING TASKS
  29.  
  30.      TASKS has three ICONS available for you to choose from the
  31.      properties menu. These ICONS are the LyWhit Software logo, RAM FREE
  32.      and TASKS. You can choose the ICON that displays the picture that
  33.      best describes what you want to use TASKS for.
  34.  
  35.      When TASKS is started the box will appear at the top left corner of
  36.      the display. The default is to display all the information. EMS
  37.      memory installed, EMS memory used and EMS Driver version will only
  38.      be displayed if you are in an EMS mode.

  40.      TASKS has two main menu options: "Options" and "Help".
  41.  
  42.      Help has three choices for "Exit", "About" and "Help". "Exit" will
  43.      terminate and "About" will display the version number of TASKS.
  44.      "Help" will display a message that will tell you to read this file.
  45.      On-line help will be implemented with the next version of TASKS.

  47.      The Options menu has two choices for "Update Rate..." and "Icon
  48.      is...".
  49.  
  50.      "Update Rate" will allow you to change the rate at which TASKS
  51.      updates its information. The times range from .10 seconds to 60
  52.      seconds.  The default rate is .10 seconds.
  53.  
  54.      "Icon is" will allow you to choose what TASKS will display when it
  55.      is an ICON. The choices are "Tasks", "Windows Memory Free" or "EMS
  56.      Memory Free".  The default choice is Tasks.  If you are not in an
  57.      EMS mode the "EMS Memory Free" choice is disabled.

  59.      When you minimize TASKS to an ICON it will display the number you
  60.      requested in the ICON. This number will continue to be updated at
  61.      the Update Rate that you selected.  When the TASKS ICON is enlarged
  62.      all the information will be displayed once again.

  65.  COMMAND LINE
  66.  
  67.      You can also pass command line options to TASKS. These command line
  68.      options tell TASKS which information you want to see in the icon.
  69.      The default is Tasks. The other options are:

  71.             /W - Show Windows memory available in Icon.
  72.             /E - Show EMS memory available in Icon.
  73.  
  74.      The command line option will let you have three sets of TASKS icons
  75.      available. Each of the three could have a different option that
  76.      would display different information in the Icon.

  87.      We are releasing TASKS and DRIVES into Shareware at the same time.
  88.      We are asking for One Dollar for each of these programs. We are
  89.      considering this a type of Vote. If we receive $200 nationwide we
  90.      will consider it a YES vote to Windows utilities. If we don't
  91.      receive $200 nationwide for these two programs we will consider it
  92.      a NO vote to Windows Utilities If we can't get 200 people to send
  93.      in $1 across the whole country then we will consider the interest
  94.      to be too low to justify writing any more programs.

  96.      If the vote is YES we will attempt to release 10 utilities for
  97.      Windows 3.0 over the next year.  We will ask for One Dollar apiece
  98.      for these utilities or $10 for all of them. These will include
  99.      Program Launch, Memory Management and various other utilities.
  100.      Currently available Windows Utilities for 3.0 are selling for over
  101.      $100.
